Nick Brown is the founder of Effct. In 2015, as a Fulbright Scholar in Colombia his students inspired him to write an article challenging stereotypes of their country. The article went viral, and showed Nick the power of the Internet in creating social change. Soon after, a friend introduced him to the Effective Altruism movement, and its goal of using our resources to help others the most. From there he formed Effct, to help advance the movement.
Brown is a former teacher with Teach For America. He taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade in Mississippi.
He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Political Science.
Uriel Berrum is a partner at Effct, where he leads business development. He works in tandem with the CEO to develop and implement winning digital strategies for the company’s clients. He brings experience in politics, policy, and finance to Effct.
Uriel joined Effct in the summer of 2018 after working on tax and revenue policy for the state of Colorado. Prior to Effct, Uriel spent time working for Goldman Sachs in New York and Salt Lake City. At Goldman, Uriel managed a portfolio of numerous companies in the diversified industrials space and municipalities in the public finance sector.
Berrum is a graduate of the University of Denver with distinction in Public Policy and Economics.
Adam Estacio is an account manager at Effct. He joined Effct after working as a Field Manager for a Colorado Congressional campaign, as Campaign Manager for two State Senate campaigns, and two years as a legislative aide for the Colorado State Legislature.
Adam is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Political Science.
